Maybe because without cultural preconceptions, a Westerner can read this ancient text with fresh eyes and see its original meaning more readily. If you liked my post on Wu Wei, you'll love this book. Another good one is Watercourse Way by Alan Watts. The natural world is not a linear system. Alan Watt's last book, Tao: The Watercourse Way, is my favorite. There are an infinite number of variables that interact constantly. That too is part of the Tao of strategy, the watercourse way: allowing the right action to arise of its own accord.
